about Al AQSA MOSQUE




Al-Aqsa Mosque in Palestine, in which the pilgrims could manampung 5000 Al-Aqsa Mosque, also known as Al-Aqsa, is a Muslim shrine in the Old City of Jerusalem. The mosque itself forms part of the Al-Haram ash-Sharif or "Sacred Noble Sanctuary," a site which is also known as the Holy Temple and is regarded as the holiest site in Judaism. Widely considered the third holiest site in Islam, Muslims believe that Prophet Muhammad is a departure from the Holy Mosque in Mecca to the Al-Aqsa Mosque for Isra Mi'raj (Night Journey). Islamic history recorded that the Prophet Muhammad led prayers facing this place until seven months after the emigration, when God ordered him to turn towards Ka'ba.

Al-Aqsa Mosque was originally a small mosque built by the Rightly Guided Caliphs, Caliph Umar bin Khattab, but developed and expanded again by the Umayyad Caliph Abdul-Malik bin Marwan, and completed by his son al-Walid bin Abdul Malik in the year 705 AD. After the devastating earthquake in 746 years, the mosque completely destroyed and was rebuilt by the Abbasid caliph al-Mansur in 754, and again rebuilt by his successor Caliph al-Mahdi in 780. Another earthquake destroyed the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in the year 1033, but two years later the Children Fatimiyah caliph, Ali az-Zahir build another mosque has stood up to the present-day. During the periodic renovations done, many Muslim rulers kekhalifahan dynasty overbuild the mosque and surrounding area, such as the dome, facade, the pulpit, the tower and the interior structure. When the Soldiers of the Cross to seize Jerusalem in 1099, they used the mosque as a palace and church, but functions as a mosque restored after the triumphant return of Salahudin Al-Ayubi. Renovations, improvements and additions done more at the end of the century by Ayyubiyah, the Mamluk dynasty, the Supreme Muslim Council, and Jordan. Today, the Old City under Israeli control that strive to do and would like to demolish the defamation of the sacred buildings to menggatinya with their Sulaiman Haikal.
