PUTRAJAYA - Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa named Best Film at the Malaysian Film Festival 24 (FFM24) which was held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre(PICC) Sunday evening.
Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim presented a trophy and cash prize of RM25, 000 to the film director Yusry Abdul Halim.
Meanwhile, Syamsul Yusof through KL Gangster Films crowned Best Director.
Comments Shahreza or Spell also won Best Actress Award through the film Shaheizyfetus while Sam won Best Actor Award through Share.
Won Best Supporting Actress in the film Faezah Elai Cun and Sboki Jikan won Best Supporting Actor in the film Gangster KL.
Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa film also won for Best Original Score category (EdryAbdul Halim), Best Costume (Rosada Abdul Hamid), Best Cinematography (MohdNoor, Mohd Kassim), Best Art Engineering (Annuar Paharudin / Kek Ting Lam).
KL Gangster also won several awards for Box-Office Films category, Best Editor(Syamsul Yusof / Hishan Jupri), Best Sound Engineering (Hisham Jupri / RizalAshereff), Best Screenplay (Syamsul Yusof).
Flip Film Awards were won Best Original Story.
Tan Sri Jins Shamsuddin receive Lifetime Achievement Award and the GloriousAchievement Award given to Datuk Michelle Yeoh.
FFM24 this time, the theme of Malaysia Film Glory, saw a total of 41 feature films, sixfilms are not the national language, eight animated films and 31 short films competedfor the award by seizing 32 Award Categories and Awards Prime Glory Glory reserved.
