Guillemard Bridge is a railway bridge where most of the structure was built with steel. The bridge across the Kelantan River, which began in Paloh Rawa, Machang to Kursial,Tanah Merah, Kelantan is the longest railway bridge in Malaysia.

Guillemard Bridge also known by the name of Kursial Bridge was built in 1920 by MetroCarriage Wagon & Finance Company Limited, Wednesbury Works England and was completed in 1924.

Opening bridge over 609.6 meters was completed by the son of Sultan Al-MarhumSultan Muhammad IV in 1925.

The name "Guillemard" taken in conjunction with the name of the British Governor at that time, Sir Laurence Guillemard. The main purpose of this bridge was built to provideaccess to trains and other vehicles.

However, on December 12, 1941 the railway bridge "Guillemard" was wrecked whendetonated by the British army to stop the advance of Japanese troops to Kuala Krai.After World War II, the railway bridge was restored and reopened to traffic on 7 September 1948.

Reopening of this bridge was inaugurated by Sultan Ibrahim, son of Al-Marhum SultanMuhammad IV on 7 September 1948.

On February 1, 1988, after the construction of new bridges built in the neighborhood,Guillemard Bridge is no longer used for motor vehicles and now it is only used by theMalayan Railway only.
